Coronavirus Testing for acute infection:
In specific medical situations we are authorised to prescribe a test
Pre -travel – some countries are asking for evidence of a recent test. In you have evidence of pre-booked travel or accomodation you may be elligible for a voucher for one of the large scale testing centres see: https://coronavirus.gouvernement.lu/en/support/depart-etranger.html
Other reasons for doing a test eg visiting a vulnerable relative – you can present to any laboratory and ask for a test- this would be self funded.
Corona virus serology testing: this looks for evidence of previous infection , though we do not yet know if this means an indivdual has immunity. This is not currently covered by the CNS but if needed it can be requested at a laboratory without a prescription on a self funded basis.
We hope this information is helpful. There will be regular updates on the above websites.
